The men of First Methodist Church have evening activities from time to time. We have cookouts, oyster roasts, go carting, fly fishing, and sometimes just meet at someone’s home or a restaurant.
Why do we do these things when most of the men have more than enough to do to fill their days and nights?
Mostly, I think, it gives us the chance to meet other guys from the church in an informal setting where most anything is talked about and discussed.
From the common ground of First Methodist and following Jesus, we have questions, concerns, issues, joys, and answers that can be discussed in a comfortable setting.
For some, they find men without all the answers and a lot of questions. And that can help them not feel inadequate in their beliefs. For others, they can find reinforcement for their beliefs that can make them stronger.
Regardless, we have a good time, and those go-karts are really fast.
