MFUMC Summer Campers cook lunch for law enforcement

Cooking Summer Camp without a special catering job? What’s the fun in that?

MFUMC cooking campers agreed and prepared a special lunch for members of the Marietta City Police Department and Cobb County Sheriff’s Office.

Under the direction of Marietta First’s food service team, led by chef Susan McElwain, the children put the lunch together (including yummy key lime pie),  and decorated the serving area and tables. The officers and deputies were also recipients of Thank You cards campers created.

Among other activities, the children learned earlier in the week how to chop vegetables and were sous chefs for casseroles headed to MUST Ministries. In total, campers prepared 40 pounds of chopped yellow squash!

MFUMC’s Children’s Ministry provides a diverse host of educational and mission-oriented opportunities as well as fun activities throughout the year.
