Planning for your Special Day
Thank you for considering Marietta First United Methodist Church (MFUMC) for your wedding. It is our wish that it will be the joyful, Christian experience God has planned it to be.

Locations
Whether you are seeking an intimate service with family and friends or a large gathering to celebrate your special day, MFUMC has several venues to meet your needs. We offer many unique locations: our Sanctuary, Chapel, Log Chapel, Hodges Garden, and the Park for your wedding ceremony. Please contact our Wedding Coordinator to determine date and location availability and to set up a time to tour our church.

Your Wedding Day
A Wedding Director is assigned to assist you in planning and directing your wedding service and your rehearsal. Our ministers provide pre-marital counseling in the months prior to your wedding date.

Music is an important part of your wedding ceremony and our church organist is available to make appropriate selections and other music arrangements.

Wedding Receptions
We also have reception facilities available and our in-house caterer offers a wide selection of reception options. For more information about receptions, contact Susan McElwain at

General Policies
Weddings are scheduled on a "first come, first served" basis with the Church Wedding Coordinator and can be scheduled up to one year in advance. We allow non-member weddings. Weddings are performed only on Saturdays and no weddings are scheduled on holidays or major holiday weekends. The Wedding Coordinator provides information on dates and times available.
Guest ministers are allowed to participate in wedding ceremonies along with one of our Ministers. Our Senior Minister or Associate Ministers will extend an invitation to the guest minister. The Methodist Book of Worship wedding ceremony will be used.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the Church building, including restrooms; urns are provided by the outside doors.
No alcoholic beverages are permitted on the Church property.
Due to liabilities, aisle runners may not be used.
