At First United Methodist Church of Marietta, The Congregational  Care Ministry primarily tends to the needs of those in our congregation that are homebound or in assisted living or nursing home facilities.  Volunteers to this ministry visit these member of our church body and help keep them connected.  They receive flowers, cards and monthly visits that let them know that they are still an important part of this congregation.

If you are interested in becoming a part of the Congregational Care Ministry, there are several areas where you can volunteer.  Our visitation volunteers make personal visits to our homebound members at least once a month.  They keep them up to date on what is happening at church and provide companionship.  Our note-writer volunteers send notes and cards to their careperson to let them know they are being thought of.  Our flower arranger volunteers take the flowers from the Sunday service and arrange individual vases that will be delivered by their visitation volunteer.

Although these are small gestures, they mean a great deal to those who receive them.

In John 13:33-35 Jesus said, "A new commandment I give to you that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples. If you have love one for another."

Our Sanctuary is OPEN FOR PRAYER from 9 am until 5 pm daily.
"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." --
- 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
