Global Mission![]() Go World! About Us
We acknowledge the Mystery of God: One way to explore the unfathomable depths of God’s love and grace is through the sacramental nature of the poor and the destitute throughout cultures and people groups different from our own. We are on a journey together to discover that True Self God has created in each of us: We are created in God’s image and living in close quarters with one another with limited distractions allows insight into God’s purpose for our lives and opens doors for us to become vessels for God’s Love.
We are a part of our church, which in turn is a part of God’s Community in the world. We are called to proclaim the promises of Christ in an inviting and compelling way through our prayers, through support of our Global mission partners, and through our short-term mission trips. We seek to establish meaningful relationships with the people we seek to serve. Offer your time and talent through the following Global Mission Opportunities: For Over 5 years, MFUMC has worked in partnership with the Villa Maria Methodist Church, our missionary partner, Charlie Hanak, and other American churches to build a Christian School in one of the poorest barios of Chimbote Peru. The school continues to grow and serve children and families who would otherwise not have access to quality education. The school also serves as an avenue for community outreach in such endeavors as micro finance for business development and for loans for home construction. For more information about how you can be involved in ongoing outreach through education in Peru, contact Brian McNair brianmcnair@yahoo.com. Our missionary partners are supported by a number of churches and organizations around the world to develop leadership teams from the communities they serve to share the Love of God through a variety of methods. Seminaries, education, medical outreach, agricultural improvements, children's homes, support of local pastors and church planting are just a few of the ways our Missionary Partners take part in God's Mission. In Chimbote, Peru, Monterrey, Mexico, and the Republic of Georgia, community leaders are working with leaders from our congregations to offer ourselves and to participate in developing healthy communities by partnering through sister church congregations, government agencies, health care providers, and business leaders in identifying and activating gifts and resources from within the communities to make their homes a better place. Our Global Mission Ministry team is working to fulfill the Great Commission and respond to the Great Commandment by developing ongoing, sustainable relationships with these communities. |
