Sunday Nurseries
Ages Birth–3 years
8:45-12:15 p.m.

The Nursery is located below the sanctuary in building B on the first level. At the registration desk you will need to fill out a registration card and security bracelet for each child (this only needs to be done once) along with labels for any bottles, cups or diaper bags.

Our infant and toddler nurseries are staffed with two trained, qualified childcare workers. Workers are screened by records with the police department, and there is always at least one worker per room qualified in CPR and trained in fire and bad weather procedures. We use sanitary procedures for diaper changes and toys are washed at the end of the day. We have a security sign-out system and a security digital tracking number in the Sanctuary and Family Life Hall.

Our 2-year olds are divided into classes based on the month in which the child was born. These classes learn a Bible story each week as well as sing songs and make a craft.

General Information

SECURITY
At the Nursery Greeter Desk, you and your child will be issued a permanent ID Tag. One tag accompanies your child to the nursery and the other is for you to present to the staff when picking up your child. If you are ever needed while your child is in the nursery, you will be notified one of two ways: your child's ID number will appear on one of the monitors located in the Sanctuary and Family Life Hall; or a nursery representative will locate you through the information you provided on your child's registration card. It is important that you keep this card current, consider this your emergency information sheet.

FOOD & SNACKS
Nursery staff cannot feed children meals (Church Policy). Infants will be fed bottles as requested - but must be prepared by the parent. Toddlers and preschoolers will be served a snack with water. Please let us know if your child has any food allergies.

Helpful Nursery Hints & Numbers
Be consistent in your church attendance. Your child will learn that church is a fun place to be if they come weekly and this will make the separation from parents easier.

Do not be discouraged - crying is normal!! Most of the time the crying does not last long. Reassure your child that you will be back. We have found that it works best if you do not come in the room with your child.

Prepare your toddler before you come to church. Remind your child how much fun they are going to have playing with toys and there friends and learning about Jesus. "Talk-up" the setting in a positive upbeat manner.

God cares about your child. Pray about your concerns and remember, never be afraid to ask questions and make suggestions. After all you are the parent. Please feel free to call any time with you concerns.

Nursery Guild Ministry Team
We want you to feel comfortable with our nursery so that you will be able to relax and participate in Worship service, Sunday School and the many other activities that FUMC has to offer. As parents, we all have questions and concerns when it comes to the quality of care our children receive. We warmly invite you to join the Nursery Guild Ministry Team! The Nursery Guild is composed of parents of nursery-aged children who meet monthly to discuss nursery issues. Childcare is provided.

This is a great way to meet other parents in the church, as well as serving and supporting an outstanding ministry for your young ones.

For more detailed information please call Beverly McCrary, Director of Child Care, at 770-429-7800, ext. 7835.
