| Evangelism
at Marietta First
There are many
ways to serve at Marietta First:
Greeter Ministry: This ministry welcomes both
visitors and members as they come to worship. We like to stand
outside and greet them and extend hospitality by opening car doors
and exterior doors when the opportunity arises. A friendly face
and welcoming smile can make such a difference to someone. You
can sign up through your Sunday School class, or by contacting
Beverly
McCrary, ext. 7835.
Mugging Ministry:
This ministry extends hospitality
by taking a bag of goodies as a welcome gift to the home of our
first time visitors. No evangelizing necessary, just drop off
the gift. They will know that they have been officially welcomed
by being “mugged” by MFUMC. Contact Tammy
Cochran, ext. 7807, to sign up.
Wednesday Night
“Helping Hands” Ministry: Wednesday
Night Helpers are needed to assist families (whether older adults
or families with small children) by getting their food and carrying
it to their tables, refilling drinks, and possibly watching a
child when needed. Contact Tammy
Cochran, ext. 7807, or Pat
Dodge, ext. 7809.
Usher Ministry:
This ministry is one that actively participates in the worship
service. Your presence is vital to the ministers during worship
by keeping up with the many details that make up a worship service.
Contact Forrest
Cate, ext. 7806, for details.
Volunteer Caller:
This ministry consists of
making calls to welcome our first time visitors and answer any
questions that they might have or direct them to the evangelism
coordinator. We also follow-up with our frequent visitors to make
sure that they are getting connected and share with them upcoming
events at our church. Contact Tammy
Cochran, ext. 7807, or Pat
Dodge, ext. 7809.
A Closer Look Class
Host/Hostess: This person
helps to welcome and receive those who will be attending the orientation
class. Click here
for more information about A Closer Look, or you may contact Rev.
Ken Cross, ext. 7826.

the church but find it difficult to come forward by yourself,
then plan on joining with other families on Membership Sunday.
Call Tammy
Cochran, ext. 7807, for details.

Finally sisters, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy; meditate on these things.
