Sunday Mornings, September – April
Lower Room and Confirmation Classroom
Take a deep breath and get ready to plant yourself in youth group and become a part of the Fusion family!
Confirmation at First United Methodist Church of Marietta is a school-year long process involving youth, parents, prayer partners, and clergy. It’s a special time when Confirmands learn about and experience the Christian faith. They learn about the Holy Trinity, the Bible, United Methodism, and how to continue growing as a committed disciple of Jesus Christ.
The year begins with a required kick-off retreat and continues with a museum trip, sessions, and special activities. Our formal class sessions are led by Jessica Ferguson, our ministers and coaching staff. These classes will meet most Sundays from September through April in the Lower Room and Confirmation Classroom.
Marietta First’s Confirmation program is a comprehensive package of meetings, classes, and events for Confirmands, parents, and prayer partners. It is intended that all participants be involved in the whole range of these respective activities. In our orientation meeting, we will discuss the expectations that go along with the Confirmation program.
We will have three parent check-ins throughout the Confirmation year. These check-ins will identify the topics the Confirmands will be learning as well as provide ways to further the discussions at home. During these sessions, parents will receive information on field trips, upcoming events and service projects, and other Confirmation information. These are great times to get to know one another and receive important information!
