What Are My Giving Options?
(Tithes and Offerings)
These are the gifts on which MFUMC bases its annual operating budget, and are the focus of our Stewardship Campaigns during the fourth quarter each year. Predictable, recurring expenses are paid out of this account, including things like pastoral and staff salaries, apportionment, utilities, and funding for existing missions and ministries. To learn more or make a Budgetary gift, please visit the MFUMC giving page at www.mariettafumc.org/give or contact any member of the Finance Committee or pastoral staff.
and Facilities Needs
These gifts are pledged and designated specifically for the purpose needed for the capital campaign. From time to time, MFUMC will embark on a special funding drive to address special short-term issues. Restore to Glory was an example of this option.
(Direct or Testamentary)
The Marietta FUMC Endowment Foundation was created in 2011 as a separate non-pro t 501(c)(3) organization to provide Marietta FUMC members and friends with a way to provide permanent financial gifts to the church. The gifts will create a perpetual source of funds to meet the church’s extraordinary mission and ministry needs that are not funded through the annual operating budget of the church and the regular giving of its members. The Endowment Foundation is an excellent vehicle through which legacy (planned) gifts and gifts to honor and remember loved ones can be made to MFUMC. The Foundation will strengthen Marietta FUMC’s missions and ministries so that it can continue to carry out the Great Commission for generations to come. Each gift will make a lasting contribution throughout the life of Marietta FUMC because only the earnings will be distributed for actual use (unless directed by the donor).
