A planned gift to the Endowment Foundation will help ensure that the ministries that have meant the most to you in your lifetime will continue into the future. You do not have to be wealthy to give. You may make gifts in memory or in honor of friends and family. Gifts may be provided anonymously, where confidentiality is assured. With planned giving, you decide what to give and how to give it. Many planned gifts offer certain advantages to both the donor and Marietta FUMC.
Foundation gifts, which for church members should be provided above and beyond their tithe and annual pledge to the church budget, can be either undesignated or designated. Undesignated gifts are endowments with no specific restrictions by the donor on the use of the income generated by the principal of the endowment. The income from these gifts will primarily help fund building capital expansion improvements and significant unbudgeted maintenance. Designated funds are endowments with specific instructions and restrictions given by the donor on the use of the income. The minimum contribution for a designated fund gift is $25,000.
