MUST Back to School Festival
Through our partners in community development, MUST Ministries wants to help at-risk children and their families find hope for a better education through our Back to School Festival. This effort is designed to bring our community together by providing basic school supplies and clothing. You can help with your prayers, donations, and volunteer time. More information is available at www.mariettafumc.org/mustbackpacks.
MUST Summer Lunches
Local schools provide nutritious meals to thousands of school children who would otherwise not be able to afford lunch. During the summer, MUST Ministries rallies local churches and organizations to help these children continue to eat a nutritious lunch. Join our Sack Lunch Makers once a week to help prepare these lunches.
Every Thursday, volunteers assist members of the community with assistance for rent, utilities, and transportation. Volunteers also serve a hot lunch and work together on service projects such as preparing the Sunday bulletin and working in the church garden. Anyone is welcome to join us to observe the process and see where they might fit in. We essentially need people who would be willing to work with guests from the community to help them think through what they need and how to engage community resources. This could be simple google searches for specific information or working through our resource list to help them get in touch with agencies that can help them. Specifically anyone with a social work background would be very valuable here. As the weather gets warmer, we will be working in the garden and from time to time there are other volunteer opportunities for church members to work alongside community members. We also work on Thursdays organizing our food pantry and our clothes closet.
