Weddings

The wedding ceremony is a worship service in which God's love is celebrated and the lordship of Jesus Christ is proclaimed.  Thank you for considering First  United Methodist Church of Marietta for your wedding.  It is our wish that it will be the joyful, Christian experience God has planned it to be.  The ministers and staff  wish to extend every assistance to you to make your wedding a memorable and meaningful occasion.

Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

1 Corinthians 13

Weddings are scheduled on a "first come, first served" basis with the Church Wedding Coordinator and can be scheduled up to one year in advance.  We do allow non-member weddings.   Weddings are performed only on Saturdays and no weddings are scheduled on holidays or major holiday weekends.  Suggested wedding times are 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Guest ministers are welcome to participate in wedding ceremonies. Our Senior Minister or Associate Ministers will extend an invitation to the guest minister.  We ask that the wedding ceremony follow the Methodist Book of Worship.
