Cub Scouts

Ages Kindergarten – 5th Grade
Cub Scout Pack 277 has been a ministry of First United Methodist Church of Marietta for many years. We are dedicated to helping boys and girls grow into confident, godly young adults. Cub Scouting emphasizes involvement between children and their parents, adult leaders and friends. The three main goals of Cub Scouting are: Personal Fitness, Character Development, and Good Citizenship. We learn a bit and have a lot of fun!

Meeting Information

Our Cub Scout Pack 277 holds den (grade level groups) meetings on Sundays from 2-4 p.m. in the FUSE Box (Welcome Center, third floor, back corner). These den meetings include both in-house activities and field trips. On the last Tuesday of the month, everyone meets together for a big Pack meeting for a special program and awards ceremony. Cub Scouts do not meet in the summer.

Special Events

The Cub Scout Pack has several special events during the year. These special events include:

  • Rain Gutter Regatta

  • Pinewood Derby

  • Water Rockets

  • Camping

  • Blue and Gold Banquet

 Boy and Venture Scout Troops 277

The mission of BSA Boy and Venture Scout Troops 277 is to teach students self-confidence, life skills, and leadership in addition to seeing that they have fun! Activities include monthly camp-outs, summer camp, Scout Sunday, merit badge clinics, and more.

Meeting Information

Boy Scouts (ages 10-17) meet on Tuesdays from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Venture Scouts (ages 13-20, co-ed) meet on the 1st Monday of the month at 7:00 pm beginning February 24.

Special Events

The Scouts have several special events during the year. These special events include:

  • Snow tubing

  • White water rafting

  • Backpacking

  • Sailing and kayaking

  • Rock climbing

  • Zip lining

  • Leadership training

  • Merit badge clinics
