Join us for an evening of fellowship and generosity in support of the Beth Berman Mission Fund.
The evening will feature a special message from church member and guest speaker James "Micky" Blackwell, who will share insights on “Enterprise Servant Leadership" lessons and more are highlighted in a recent book by the late Dr. Robert Materna.
Our speaker this year is James “Micky” Blackwell, he received his B.S. degree in engineering from the University of Alabama and his M.S. degree from the University of Virginia. He retired from Lockheed Martin Corporation (LM) in 2000 as Executive Vice President overseeing all LM Aeronautics companies and products worldwide. He has won numerous awards for his aerospace, business, and community leadership. Mr. Blackwell has published numerous articles and books on aerospace engineering, leadership, theology, and history. For 60 years, he has taught Bible studies, participated in lay revivals, and led spiritual retreats. He is an active member of The United Methodist Church. His life and work are the subject of a new book, “Enterprise Servant Leadership: A New Way of Doing Business to Be the Best of the Best.” He and his wife, Billie, have been happily married for 64 years and have two daughters and four grandchildren.
Enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by our own Church Family Supper Chef, Michael Connolly.
In 2007 Beth Berman, our Church Administrator, was a victim of homicide. While we have yet to recover from the loss, we continue to seek ways to continue her loving legacy of doing whatever is required to put people in position to live out their place in God’s mission for the world.
By attending, you support local and global communities and missions with the Beth Berman Mission Fund. The dinner, silent auction, and sponsorships raise funds for our mission trip scholarship fund, our Good Samaritan Community Ministry, and feeding and education programs in Marietta, Chimbote, Peru, and Fairbanks Alaska.
The event is open to all interested in hearing about the Global Missions Ministry at MFUMC.
Start your bidding on auction items on Sunday, November 9, through Thursday, November 13, at 7:30 pm HERE (you do not have to attend the event to bid or to win auction items). Help raise funds for scholarships and missions' projects around the world.
