Welcome to our Lenten Devotional Series
On behalf of the clergy, retired clergy, and leaders of MFUMC, we welcome you to this special Lenten Devotional. Our theme for the season is Everything [In] Between. This collection of devotionals explores stories like the Good Samaritan, Mary and Martha, the fruitless fig tree, the Lost Sheep, Zacchaeus, and more.
Jesus intentionally highlighted the cultural and political polarities of his time to emphasize the radical, inclusive, and surprising love of God. When we study these stories in their historical and cultural context, we see how they mirror the cultural and political divides many of us experience in our families, churches, and communities today. This is a time of deep reflection, prayer, and fasting.
In this Year of Invitation, we invite you to take time each week to read and pray these devotions. Make them a part of your routine. Engage and wrestle with them.
May this time encourage spiritual renewal and transformation in your life. I pray that the journey through Everything [in] Between moves you to a deeper connection in Christ and leads you to a life of transformation and hope.
