Stating Point
Starting Sunday, August 17, you are invited to this four week class on Sundays in August and September from 10:10-11:00 a.m. in the Hospitality Room for guests and new members to learn more about the ministries, missions, history, and theology of MFUMC. We will conclude with the church tour on Sunday, September 14. Register below.

The Corinthians Conversation
Join us for The Corinthians Conversation, a thoughtful and enriching Bible study that explores the wisdom and complexities of Paul’s letter to the church in Corinth. This 5-week study examines some of the community’s conflicts, which remain relevant today — issues such as unity within the church, spiritual maturity, leadership, and living as faithful witnesses in a changing world.
Nursery Staff will provide childcare for ages 8 weeks to 2nd Grade on Wednesday Nights, coinciding with Adult Bible Studies. Nursery will open for drop-off each night at 6:15pm. Pick-up begins at 7:30pm.
This sign-up registers your child for the first session of Wednesday Night Studies (August 20 - September 17 ).
There is not childcare during Wednesday Night Supper, but families are encouraged to attend with their children and can sign up for supper each week via Realm.
We do ask that all children attending Nursery complete registration so we can gather appropriate information regarding allergies, emergency contacts, and plan for the appropriate number of Nursery Staff.

Women's Ministry Fall Kickoff
The Women's Ministry is hosting it's annual Fall Kickoff on Saturday, August 23 from 10:30am-1:00pm in the Family Life Hall. Wear your favorite sun dress and fancy fascinator for a ladies tea time together! Our own Rev. Dr. Lahronda Little and Rev. Blair Tolbert will be our speakers for the day. We are offering free childcare for ages 18 months (walking) to 8 years for the Women’s Ministry Kick-Off Ladies Tea event on Saturday, August 23. Drop off will begin at 10:15am in the Nursery Lobby. Pick up will begin at 1:00pm in the Nursery Lobby, as well.

Music Ministry rehearsals begin for the Fall. Adult Choir (Chancel Choir) Wednesdays 7.00 - 8.30pm. Youth Choir (Coventry Ensemble) Sundays 4.30 -6.00pm (beginning August 24). Children's Choirs (Cherub, Carol, Chorister) Wednesdays 4.30 - 5.30pm. Handbells (Wesley Ringers; Wednesday 6.00-7.00pm, beginning in September. Genesis Ringers. Sundays time to be confirmed). First Youth Choir Rehearsal with Adam Fry
Do you know a 6th - 12th grader who likes to sing or make music? Please invite them to Coventry Ensemble Rehearsal, Sunday August 24, 4.30 - 6.00pm in Room 263 (Building C), with our new Youth Choir Director, Adam Fry. Adam teaches at The Westminster Schools in various Choral and Theatre programs and is excited to work with our youth!

MFUMC Fantasy Football League
Join the MFUMC Fantasy Football league for some friendly competition and fellowship. This is a fun way to get to know the your neighbor and put your team to the test.
Our draft is Tuesday, September 2 at 6:00 p.m. at the Taco Mac on Dallas Hwy. Remote drafting is also available.

Prayer Group for Healthcare Professionals and Caregivers
Join fellow healthcare professionals and caregivers for a time of prayer, praise, and renewal. No preparation needed—just come as you are. Young-ish Women's Bible Study
The Young-ish Women’s Small Group starts back Thursday, September 4! Meeting Thursdays in the Parlor from 9:30-10:30 AM, this group ranges in ages from 20's-40's. Power 45 Fall Retreat & Kickoff 2025
Join us as we kick-off Power45 for the 2025-2026 school year with a 1-Day Fall Retreat! Our theme for this year is RADIANT.
We will meet at the church in the Park on Polk from 9:00am - 6:00pm on Saturday, September 6. Our day will include: team-building, games and activities, worship, lunch and dinner, and a bonfire. All events will take place in the Park, weather permitting, and we will use the Lower Room/FLH for meals. Cost per child is $50, which includes all snacks, meals, a t-shirt, and activities.

September Parent's Night Out
Join us for Parent’s Night Out on Saturday, September 6 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Children ages 2 years old through 2nd Grade are welcome to join our Nursery Staff for a night of fun, games, crafts, play, and lots of fun! Our theme for September is Pirates - You Are God’s Greatest Treasure!
All children are encouraged to bring a sack dinner and a water bottle filled with water. A fun themed dessert will be provided.
Cost per child is $35. If you have more than one child attending, each additional child is $25.

Third Grade Bible Presentations
It is a joy and privilege to give a Bible to our third grade students each year, to help equip them to grow in their own faith and relationship with God through the reading and studying of the holy scriptures.
This year’s Bible presentations will take place during the 11:15am service on Sunday, September 7th. Following the service, third graders and their families are invited to a brunch in the Family Life Hall.

The Georgia Brass Band in Concert

Women of Faith Bible Study
The Women of Faith Bible Study returns for their Fall Bible Study on September 11. This fall they will be studying "As For Me - Life Through the Lens of the Psalms" by Adrienne Camp. Family Promise Hospitality Week
MFUMC will be hosting families from Family Promise of Cobb County during the week of September 21–28. This ministry provides temporary shelter and meals to working families with children, while helping them gain the stability and support needed to secure long-term housing. Volunteer sign-ups will be available in the coming weeks.

SAM Braves Game
Tickets are still available for the Atlanta Braves game on Tuesday, September 23, against the Washington Nationals at Truist Park.
Everyone is welcome to attend—you do not need to be a member of the Senior Adult Ministry.
The cost includes parking for the three church buses at the Truist Park lot.

Beth Berman Dinner and Silent Auction
Save the Date: Thursday, November 13, 2025 for the Beth Berman Mission Fund Dinner and Silent Auction. Join us for this special evening in which we honor the life and legacy of Beth Berman throughout missions. Auction items are being accepted now through October 26th. "Ireland: An Emerald Journey" Information Meeting
We invite you to join us on Sunday afternoon, August 17 in the Wesley Room from 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. for an informational meeting for a trip to Ireland next April 11-20, 2026. Renowned singer and accompanist Emmet Cahill and Seamus Brett will be showing us their homeland. Handbell and Orchestra Interest Session
This session is for new and returning instrumental musicians of the church. We will discuss rehearsal and worship opportunities for instruments (of all kinds, including guitars, handbells, banjo, accordion, bagpipes, recorder, you name it!). Church Family Supper

Promotion Sunday
Join us for Promotion Sunday! During the Sunday School hour, kids will meet their Sunday School teachers for the year, attend their new grade-level Sunday School class, and enjoy fun activities, games, treats, and more!

Blessing of the Backpacks
Children are invited to bring their backpacks to be blessed for the new school year. They'll also receive a backpack tag with a verse to encourage them this year!

Color Wars
All Rising 6th-12th graders are invited to join us for our end of the summer Fusion event, COLOR WARS! Color Wars will take place on July 27 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.!

Pew Readiness
Rising 4th and 5th graders are invited to join us during Sunday School on July 27th to learn all about what to expect as they make the transition to staying in worship.
We will meet in their normal Sunday School class and walk down to the Sanctuary together where we will play a fun game to master important Sanctuary vocabulary, learn more about the elements of Communion, review the order of worship, and get the chance to ask Clergy your burning questions!
No sign up required, but attendance is highly encouraged.

Moving On Up
Rising 4K kids (4 years old by September 1) and their parent(s) are invited to join us in the Fuse Box during the 9am and 11:15am services to get a sneak peek at what they can expect as they make their transition upstairs in the new school year.
This is a great chance to expose your kiddo to the format of children's worship, while having you there with them, before they are thrown into the festivities of our big Promotion Sunday on August 3rd.
No sign up is required, but attendance is highly encouraged.

Rising 6th Grade Outing
If you have a RISING 6th grader, we would love for them to join us for our Fusion Rising 6th Grader outing on July 16 from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. We will gather at the Lower Room at Marietta FUMC at 5:30 for pizza and snacks. We will give the rising 6th graders a tour of the lower room; then, we will take the church buses to “Adventure Air,” an awesome trampoline park located in Kennesaw! 2025 Vacation Bible School
Save the date for Marietta FUMC's 2025 Vacation Bible School! We will be hosting our "Road Trip" VBS from July 7-10 for rising 4K through rising 6th graders. This year's theme will focus on "Road Trip: On the Go with God" and we couldn't be more excited to create this experience for your kids.
*We still need THREE adult volunteers and three/four youth volunteers.
Not available the week of VBS but still want to serve? Join us at one of our Decorating Days! As we prepare for VBS, we'd love helping hands to create decor for our hallways, gathering areas, and classrooms. You may be cutting, pasting, wrapping, organizing supplies, etc. depending on the day. All ages and abilities welcome!

Lemonade on the Lawn
Join us Sundays, July 6, 20, and 27 after each worship service for Lemonade on the Lawn, a time to catch up during the busy summer for some refreshing lemonade and fellowship. We’ll be serving from the Fountain Courtyard, outside the Nursery entrance! Rain location is the Gathering Area, outside the Sanctuary.

The Great American Family Picnic
Celebrate Independence Day with family and friends at the beautiful Park on Polk at Marietta FUMC. Your reservation guarantees you entrance to the beautiful, shaded park area and pre-determined lawn space for a bring your own picnic dinner, two reserved parking spots, access to organized activities, and the BEST SEATS IN TOWN for the holiday fireworks show.

Father’s Day Guest Preacher
On Sunday, June 15 for Father's Day, Rev. Dan Brown will be our guest preacher. Brown is a retired United Methodist Minister having served for 44 years in the North a Georgia Conference, and retired in July of 2020.

Pentecost Sunday
Celebrate the birthday of the church on Pentecost Sunday, June 8 at both worship services. Pentecost is a day of celebration for all that God has done and is doing within the life of the church. Everyone is encouraged to wear red to celebrate. There will be special birthday treats in the Gathering Area.
